Headteacher's message
On behalf of the pupils, staff, parents and governors of Wyvil School and Resource Bases for Speech, Language and Communication Needs, and Autism, I am delighted to welcome you to our website. We look forward to meeting your child and am sure that this will be an enriching, inspirational and successful experience for them.
Wyvil is an ambitious school, that has served the local community since 1876, where ‘all groups of pupils make rapid progress in English and mathematics’ (Ofsted 2013). All of our stakeholders share in our high expectations and highly value our family ethos. The school educates over 500 pupils aged 3-11. The school serves a range of pupils that represent the diversity of the local area. This is reflected in our rich and engaging creative curriculum, which was recognised in the school’s last Ofsted Inspection 2013, ‘Teachers plan interesting and engaging activities that enable all learners to be fully involved in their learning.’ The school offers an array of opportunities designed to inspire pupils’ academic, creative, musical and sporting talents.
Our broad and creative curriculum has received various external awards, including: Artsmark Gold, TfL STARS Gold, Rights Respecting School Award Gold, IQM- Flagship School, NACE Challenge Award, P4C Gold, International Eco Schools Green Flag Award, Healthy Schools Gold, The Diana Award and Primary Science Quality Mark.
The school enjoys a number of partnerships with local, high quality providers, which further enhance the pupils’ experiences, including: Surrey Cricket and The South Bank Centre. All Wyvil School asks of you, is your dedication to improving the prospects of our pupils and your support in making our school the pride of its community.
You are joining our school at a very exciting time in the school’s history. With refurbishment and expansion completed in the Summer of 2021, Wyvil School has been refreshed and is ready serve its community for the years ahead.
I look forward to sharing the school’s successes with you.
