Thank you for your interest in the Wyvil Hub.
Who is the hub for?
The Hub has been established for pupils who are identified as meeting the Government's criteria of either Key Worker’s children or as vulnerable children. The Wyvil Hub has been established at this time so that local schools can continue to support identified pupils in the most efficient way, whilst observing the strict protocols and procedures put in place for schools, social distancing and protecting school staff and pupils. The overwhelming advice from Government is that if pupils can be at home, then they should. The Wyvil Hub will provide childcare for your child on the days that they are unable to be at home.
Where is the Hub?
Wyvil Primary School (Access through the pedestrian gate on Wyvil Road)
How will the Hub operate?
The Hub will adopt a 'school within a school' model, so each local school will be assigned their own classroom and area. There will be shared times when groups may come together, such as lunchtime and playtimes, but the strict 2 metre social distancing rules will be enforced by supervising staff.
Hub Opening Hours
The hub is accessed through the pedestrian gate on Wyvil Road. Gates will open at 8.30am and the hub finishes for the day at 3.30pm.
On which days is the Hub open?
Over the Easter holiday the Hub will open:
Monday 6th April - Thursday 9th April
Tuesday 14th April- Friday 17th April
For those schools accessing the Hub in Term 5, the Hub will reopen on weekdays from Monday 20th April.
Should my child wear school uniform?
For the Easter holidays uniform is not required.
For Term-time, beginning 20th April, school uniform is required.
The Hub will be staffed with adults from the schools accessing the Hub. All staff on site will have full DBS clearance. A Designated Safeguarding Lead and Senior Leader from one of the schools will be on site each day should there be any safeguarding concerns.
Pupils should arrive at 8.30am, where they will register and have access to breakfast, a selection of cereals, toast and spreads.
Lunch can be provided on site, but parents should check with individual schools about their arrangements.
Pupils should be collected from Wyvil at 3.30pm, please note that only those who have permission to collect your child will be able to.
What if I need to collect my child early?
Please advise the Hub with a minimum of 24 hours notice. We ask that such requests are kept to a minimum. Remember, only those adults identified as having permission to collect will be allowed to.
