Internet Safety Information for Parents
At Wyvil Primary School we ensure that all children are taught key skills to stay safe online. E Safety is embedded into our Computing curriculum and related issues are discussed in other areas such as anti-bullying initiatives. As part of being a Rights Respecting School, all pupils in key stage two are required to sign an E Safety Rights Charter. This charter is written by the children themselves and includes a range of rights and responsibilities relating to online behaviour and use. The charters for each year group can be seen here. As part of Safer Internet Day this year, Wyvil held a 'Design an E Safety Emoji Competition'. The aim was to get the children to think about important messages about staying safe online whilst having fun. You can see the competition winners below.
In the same week as the competition, all parents were given a copy of Digital Parenting. This magazine, sponsored by Vodafone, provides a comprehensive guide to issues relating to children's safe use of technology inside and outside the home.
