Year 6 2019-20
Class Teachers: Mr Marles (6RM) & Miss Pope/Miss Stevens (6SP)
Support Staff: Miss Kinghorn (6RM) & Ms Clarke (6SP)
In the final year of primary school, our team aim to support, encourage and extend all children- so that they achieve their full potential. Over the year the children are prepared for the transition to secondary school through a variety of outside agencies visiting such as Transport for London, the school nurse and many more, as well as lessons that are specifically planned to equip the children for secondary school.
The children cover a range of topics such as: World War 2, Rivers, Mountains, Hinduism, SRE and drugs education and many more. In Year 6 we are committed to providing a creative learning experience as well as a focus on developing independent learning skills. Additionally, there is a wide variety of excursions on offer that support the children’s curriculum learning.
Finally, as a reward for all their hard work year 6 children are invited to go on a 5-day residential trip to Sussex where they can develop their skills in outdoor pursuits such as: climbing, archery, orienteering and many more. Furthermore, the children are given the opportunity to show off their performing arts skills and say a fond fair-well to Wyvil in our famous year 6 graduation ceremony.
